A Little Of This Little Of That 271/365

It’s been a weird but productive day.

I hit up Orange Theory this morning for a great session. Ran home showered and headed over to my friend’s house to watch their girls so they could be there for a family crisis.

I’ve had a great day with the girls. We went to dinner in which the 3 year old passed out at the table.

Of course as soon as we got in the car she was wide awake. So it was home and watch some movies.

We started with Fantasia uhmmmm yeah that’s not appropriate for children.

Oh, and it’s boring. So we’ve moved onto Beauty and the Beast. Much better.

Along with spending time playing with the girls I meal planned for the week, made my shopping list so I can hit the store after my OTF session and also read 2 of the 4 chapters for my book club.

So yeah it’s been productive.

Tomorrow will be OTF, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, and some meal prepping. It’ll be another busy day and hopefully I’ll even have time to do my nails we shall see.

Long Days Lead To Naps 270/365

Yesterday was a long day which made for a very tired day today.

I got up and headed to Orange Theory for a strength workout which exhausted me. But I worked my butt off and was even given heavier weights by Coach Julie. I swear it’s a conspiracy between the coaches now to just keep make me lifting heavier. It’s something I love about OTF in that the coaches get to know you and push you to become better.

And here you go this is what I look like after an OTF session. Pretty much look like death.

After OTF it was off to the chiropractor to work on getting my pelvis back into place. So I can start back up on the inclines.

I then proceeded to come home shower and take a 2 hour nap. Yeah I was exhausted.

Of course an unplanned 2 hour nap kind of screwed up my schedule and day, but I felt a bit better after the nap. Of course I’m going to finish up this post and go to bed as I’m still tired.

I stopped by the old roommate’s going away party for a bit this evening and then came home and did some work as I should of done it during the day but well I was napping.

Tomorrow I have another OTF session and one on Sunday too. 3 Days in a row we shall see how I feel on Monday. Plus tomorrow is my friend’s birthday party and house warming so I’ll be stopping by there at some point.

Long Day 269/365

Today has been a long day. As in it started at 4 am and is still going.

I got to spend the day working with Roc Solid and a group of volunteers from KW Midlothian building a swing set for 8 year old Cooper who is battling cancer.

We got the swing set built and when the little superhero gets home from the hospital he’s going to have an awesome place to play.

I didn’t take very many pictures today as I was busy helping get the swing set built with these awesome volunteers.

It was another great day building hope.

Now, it’s time to do all the work that I didn’t do today. I’ve already got some of it taken care of and have some follow up stuff scheduled for tomorrow.

It’ll be an early night to bed for this girl as I’ve got a date with Orange Theory in the morning and some research/follow up to do for work.

Best Day Ever 268/365

Today was an Orange Theory day and well it was the Best. Day. Ever. Want to know why? Ha because I didn’t have to row. There was rowing worked into the workout, but no one actually made it to the rowing. There were 2-3 exercises in each block but with increasing reps as it was an endurance day. If you finished all 3 rounds you then went to the rower until time was called. Yeah well I finished the rounds or a few reps short of finishing but didn’t make it to the rower. So any day without rowing is a great day to me.

However, my heart rate monitor was being completely wonky and I need to update the firmware which will be happening before my next session on Friday. I went through an entire block reading zero I assure you my heart was beating. And throughout the entire workout it’d go from 60% to 85+% then drop to 70% so it was all over the place in a matter of seconds.

But, hey I know I worked my butt off. I’ve upped my pace by .2 on the treadmill and that’s pretty awesome. I’ve been working at this pace all week. Once I get my pelvis back into place and working properly I’ll start adding back in the inclines. Right now I’m not going more than 4% as I start getting the pinching in my low back.

Tomorrow I’ll be spending the day building hope with Roc Solid and then saying good bye to the husband as he will be traveling for work again.

Chase The Lion 267/365

Today I had a training at my new office in which I learned a lot and even picked up some tips and tricks to make my career grow. Which is the definition of a successful training to me.

After our training we had a Mastermind in which we discussed the chapters we read over the week in Chase the Lion. It was a great hour in which we discussed our thoughts on some key points and it was very enlightening.

I’m so happy that I’ve made the change and moved to this new company.

Yummmmm 265/365

I’m starting to get back into the whole wanting to cook and eat actual food instead of whatever I can throw together quickly. The weather has cooled off a bit and now it’s time to start thinking about making some yummy meals and having leftovers for the freezer.

Last night I whipped up one of my favorite meals from Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook. I made her Buffalo Chicken Casserole and it was just as tasty as I remembered. Plenty of food was made and it Fed my husband and I along with enough for me to eat tonight for dinner while he has beef stew that we threw in the crockpot this morning, and I have enough for another meal for the two of us that will be going in the freezer for one of those days when I need a quick fix for dinner.

I had a great day taking care of stuff at the house but I started the morning off with a workout at Orange Theory it was an ESP day and the coach made sure I wasn’t slacking on the weight floor. Love that they both encourage and push me to my limits.

I’m also reading a book for work that has me really thinking about all aspects of my life and I am looking forward to this upcoming week at the office. I can’t say that I’ve felt that way in a long time so i know it is a great thing that I have made this move. Even if there is all sorts of drama and distractions coming from my old place of employment. I love the people I work with and my team.

I Do It For The Smiles 264/365

Today I got to hang out with some of my friends and help build hope for a little girl battling pediatric cancer. She’s a RocStar.

I am absolutely honored and humbled that I get to be a part of this. I keep thinking that I’m going to wake up one day and they are going to tell me sorry but we don’t need/want you anymore.

This foundation truly has my heart and passion. I love what they stand for and what they are doing. I’ll be working with them as long as they’ll have me.

Friday & Looking Forward To What’s To Come 263/365

I started at a new office on Monday and I can honestly say that I am loving it and look forward to going into the office. I don’t have to go into the office as I can do a lot from home, but I want to. The people I work with are super supportive and motivating.

I’m excited to see how I can grow here and I can’t wait for it to start. I’m time blocking and scheduling my days so that I can get everything I need to done and even work on some more projects for the future.

We have a mastermind reading group and the book we are reading this month is super inspirational and also making me take stock of my life both professionally and in my personal life. There are so many ways for me to grow and I’m seeing the potential of that now. I’ve definitely lost my way a bit over the last several years following my husband around the country for his job. It’s time for me to really find my purpose and become the best me I can be.

One of the things my new office does is we have a plaque with our name outside our office and an inspirational quote on it. So tonight I’ve been looking for the quote I want to use so I can get it put up outside my office. I’ve found so many amazing ones that I’m going to be up all night trying to decide which one to use.

Cooking For 2 262/365

Tonight on the menu for dinner was meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

However, I can’t just make 1 meatloaf. The husband will eat a turkey meatloaf but it’s not at all what he’s interested in eating. He wants the real deal. I won’t eat anything but turkey meatloaf. So, yup you guessed 2 separate meatloafs were made tonight.

Luckily it’s pretty easy to whip up 2 different loafs. I chop up enough onion and garlic for both split it between 2 bowls add the meat, egg, and gluten free bread crumbs and mix away.

Tomorrow night will be Julie Bauers Buffalo Chicken Casserole which I love he hasn’t tried this one yet, but loved the one I made from Fed And Fit by Cassy Joy. So I’m sure he’ll like this as well. And, if not that just means more for me.

How’s your Thursday been?

Run/Row 261/365

It was a run/row day at Orange Theory today. And, well I hate me some rowing. However, it was a victory for me as I made all the rows in the recommended time with even a second or 2 to spare. I was of course in the high end of the recommended time but still I did it.

I will never be a fan of rowing of this I am almost certain but I am improving at it. It may be a little at a time but I am doing it.

On another note I’m so excited to be working at my new firm. It’s been amazing so far and I’ve only been there 3 days. I love going into the office and I am excited for tomorrow.

It really is true that if you’re surrounded by supportive positive people you’ll really feel it and your outlook will change. I don’t even care that I have a 30-45 minute commute as opposed to the 10 minute commute I used to have. Those extra 20-35 minutes mean nothing when you’re actually looking forward to going to work instead of dreading it and trying to come up with excuses to miss meetings because you just can’t stand being there.

Taco Tuesday, Well Close Enough 260/365

It’s Taco Tuesday, but when you’re life takes a bit of a swerve and your income has changed for a month, you just had to take your dog to the vet to the tune of $250 it means you’re not going out for tacos.

A visit to the vet for the dog was unplanned and hopefully we will have some answers after lab work comes back tomorrow or Thursday.

So, instead of going out to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants I made some Mexican food at home. It wasn’t tacos but quesadillas instead. It was still delicious and well considerably cheaper than going out.

I really need to get my act together and start meal planning for the week.

This meal came together quick and it was super easy to make so it worked well and it’s something that I can always throw together in a pinch.

So Taco Tuesday still happened it was just quesadillas instead Quesadilla Tuesday anyone?
